The Farmhouse - A Thoughtful Renovation

The 18th century farmhouse has been sympathetically renovated to become the luxurious holiday accommodation that it is now. The thoughtfully designed interior gives each individually styled bedroom of the farmhouse a personality of its own – steered by the meticulous eye of the interior designer, Sarah Weatherall-Morris of White Brick Studio, and the attention to detail of the owner, Charlotte Foster.

A Sense of Calm & White Cotton Linens

As you head up the stairs to the master bedroom you are greeted by a light and airy, clean, crisp white linen colour-scheme that allows you to feel an instant calm. The master bedroom room is spacious and has two large picture windows – one looks over to the private tennis court and the other across to the courtyard, with views of the historic barns of the farmhouse in their natural heritage state of black wooden cladding and red clay roof tiles.

The trees beyond are tall and green and give the barns a perfect setting against the blue sky, making you feel as though you are miles from anywhere.

The en-suite bathroom to the master is in itself a country retreat and has a shower to be envied! The luxurious shower head is huge and will feel like gentle rainfall, helping you to unwind and relax, ready to enjoy your farmhouse stay with friends or family.

The William Morris Room

In keeping with recent interior design trends to bring the beauty of the outside into a home, the second largest bedroom in The Farmhouse at Polehanger is tastefully decorated with a William Morris Golden lily – slate/manilla wallpaper, creating a feature wall for the bed and beautifully setting the colour scheme of the room.

The built in solid oak wardrobes are another timeless and original feature of this farmhouse bedroom stretching from floor to ceiling and across an entire wall; these have been re-painted in a neutral Farrow & Ball Hardwick white shade that complements the wallpaper and bedside lamp shades perfectly.

The bedroom carries on its heritage farmhouse styling with a refurbished solid oak chest of drawers lined with the same William Morris wall paper just to add that extra touch of luxury for your clothes – don’t worry there are no lavender scented bags though!

With a further four tastefully decorated bedrooms, including two which are roomy enough to add a travel cot or extra bed, the farmhouse is ideal for larger groups of friends or family, twelve adults can happily stay and enjoy time together without feeling too close for comfort.

Luxurious Farm House Living

Spending down time with your family or best friends can be done across three generous living areas.

The main lounge has floor to ceiling luxuriously thick Sanderson sorilla damask curtains in a neutral pattern framing a large window to the front of the farmhouse, and dark blue velvet sofas that ensure room for many whilst relaxing late into the evening in front of the cozy log burner, set within the original farmhouse inglenook fire place.

There is also an additional living room just off the lounge with its own soft blue velvet sofa and retro style metal reading lamp as well as an annexe, which has yet another living room featuring a neutral sofa, giant footstool and cozy throws that bring ‘the white company’ styling to mind!

A Dining Room Ready for a Feast

Once you have your guests gathered and the food prepped you can set a table to be envied; with vintage cutlery and stylish glassware to lay the perfect three course setting.

The farmhouse owners have ensured the shelves and cupboards are full of vases, cake stands, large platters and lighting options to enable you to decorate the room for a celebratory meal or special occasion gathering.

The original hard wood floors and soft green colour palette help to set the scene and will make for ideal images to look back on your tablescaping skills or for Instagrammable posts to your friends!

Pared back Contemporary Style

Ultimately, the decor of the farmhouse is pared back, contemporary countryside living – but don’t take our word for it, book your family or friends gathering and see it first hand, you won’t be disappointed!
